I know some of you have been very disappointed recently with items suddenly going out of stock, and there being no wait list option for them. It is frustrating. I have just had a customer who had ordered a WOW Deal ... and it was in my bag and then up popped the notice that I had to remove it from the bag in order to submit. This is a long term customer of mine, an elderly lady, so I tried to recreate the deal, and have had to substitute a couple of items. I will actually make no commission on the sale, because the total comes to $59, so - after my commission - my cost will still be about $40. However ... and this is a personal choice that you must all make for yourselves, for me the satisfaction of my customer is the goal.
Like many of you, my business has struggled the past couple of years. People have less "spare money" for "extras" since food, gas and everything else has become more expensive. This is obvious when you see that our group sales, that were once $12000 and up (and we were working towards the $15000 goal of the next level) are now in the $3000s mainly. This customer has been loyal to me now for more than 10 years, and is elderly and has to count her pennies. I do not want to let her down, simply because AVON ran out of the WOW deal.
Goodwill counts for so much, in our business, and customer loyalty is something we should all be very thankful for.
I guess, also, though that it's probably best to order WOW deals and specials as soon as you can, and know that by the time a customer is ordering in the 2nd campaign that you can get it in, that they may not be successful, and to let them know that ahead of time. I failed to do that this time, but have done my best to rectify the situation.
Have you been checking out your "What's New?" lately?
I've been really thrilled with all the rep offers and have been stocking up on products that I use, and using some of the extras as customer appreciation gifts in with their orders.
Make sure you check the offers each campaign, to see whether any would work for you for personal use stock ups, or to offer to customers who use individual items (and then sell them items separately at brochure price!)
Have a great Campaign 8 everyone!
