Another week has gone by and it has been a bit up and down. Hubby had a bad night early in the week so ended up taking a sick day, thankfully it was all that was needed and he was good to go the next morning. Our menagerie are all fighting hot spots, and running me ragged. Our one cat, who suffers with allergies in Summer, gave us a good workout tonight when we had to give him a pill. We won - finally - but not without 15 minutes or so of him spitting it out over and over. Ah life, never a dull moment here, that's for sure.

I am very blessed by my friends and customers who buy from me online, from all over the USA. Their support is so necessary to me, to help me maintain my business and "earn my paycheck". Now that I am so immobile, I rely more on my online sales than I did when I was able to get out and about and visit my customers in the traditional "Ding Dong, AVON calling" way. I did used to love that. Most of my customers then were in Mauldin, local to me, and were like family. My visits took 30 minutes to an hour, and weren't all about AVON, although a lot of the talk was. It's harder to build that kind of relationship online, and my letting people know about coupon codes to save them money, or earn them freebies, often comes off purely as advertising, rather than me sharing a good deal. Sure, I want more sales, but my premise has always been to help people save money and get more for it. Why? Because when my children were younger I was a single parent, back in England, on a fixed income, and with no support from my ex-husband. I prided myself on that most of my money went on my kids, that they got home from school each day and had a cooked meal. I spent very little on myself. My biggest treat was my "smellies", I loved to smell nice. My favourite things were my bathtime goodies: Tranquil Moments Bubble Bath (discontinued in the US but still on sale in some other countries), talc, and body lotion. I only bought it when it was on sale, or they had groupings as a "deal". I couldn't afford it otherwise. This week is just whizzing by, and despite "the holiday" postponing some AVON updating by 24 hours, my AVON leadership bonus was in the bank this morning! I really don't know how I would manage without it. Today it has cleared my hospital bill for the CAT scan I had a few weeks ago, paid off another bill and hubby's meds, put $100 into a savings account that is harder to access, and is buying dinner and groceries tonight. I am very thankful! No that I'm physically limited, due to my health, I have no other way to make money. It's not like it was, a couple of decades ago, when I could have just picked up a job for money, when I needed it. I must say though, I wish I had known how much I could earn with AVON back then. Even further back. 30 years ago would be perfect! As it is, this year will be my 10th anniversary with the company, October 14th. I am so thankful that I saw the bookmark ads in the Simpsonville Curves, that day, and met Glori Gossett who became my upline, my mentor and my friend.
