Well, I hope you are all enjoying your Thanksgiving celebrations and making memories with your families and friends, whilst enjoying a tasty array of dishes! We kept it simple this year, roast turkey, bacon, stuffing, cranberry and orange relish, and carrot salad for "lunch" (it's just me and hubby, and since we both have health issues, this actually works better for us. Later we will have cheesecake and chocolate ganache, and there will be plenty of leftovers to treat ourselves with another day!

Talking leftovers, I'm going to use some of the turkey to make like a Thai style soup with cabbage, carrots, green onions, chinese 5 spice seasoning, soy sauce and broth. Light and lush!

So, tonight at 6pm, hubby is heading to Walmart to pick up 3 pairs of jeans since they have them at $10 apiece for Black Friday. I'm not into crowds any more or waiting for bargains, I shop mainly online now.

Many years ago though, New Year's Day 1973, when my son was a baby, I queued at a local toy store, Johnson's, from 4am in the morning, until they opened at 9am, to get my son a pedal car. It was 5/- and their "big sale" item. It looked kind of like this.

I was a single parent back then, and in England, New Year's is normally pretty much in the middle of frigid weather. I was well wrapped up, and determined that I was going to get it for him, and I did!

I guess, even then, when I set my mind to something, I pursued it!

Well AVON's Black Friday deals start today and by using code CELEBRATE when you order $45 or more you will get 20% off that order (that's a $9 savings!) PLUS the tote and 8 items shown above! And using the code on ANY order will get you FREE shipping! What's not to like?  Save big today through Saturday at www.youravon.com/rosemarydempsey

Thanks for your support. Out of the $10,000 in the year, that I need to maintain my President's Club status, I now have $8264 leaving me just $1736 to find. In Campaign 26 I will get cosmetic and beauty purchases counted at double the awards, so that's just $868 in sales of those. Please help me get there. This is one of the goals I strive hard to achieve each year, and especially being disabled, this is one of my "failure is not an option" goals, as it helps me to both maintain my self-esteem, and to motivate others!

Enjoy the rest of your day, blessings all!

Thanksgiving Tomorrow!

This year has just whizzed by so fast, a sure sign of getting older, they say! It def seems to be true, in my case I can hardly believe we are already only 4 weeks away from Christmas! And that Thanksgiving is tomorrow!!! I bet kitchens all across the US are filled with some awesome scents of baking and prepping for tomorrow.

For all those who are travelling today, I wish you safe travels with minimal headaches, kids who sleep most of the trip, and no road rage!

Hubby and I are eating lighter this year, me because of my hernia and the discomfort I get right now, when I try to eat a full meal, and him because of his diabetes. I'm cooking a turkey and stuffing but then we plan on having it with just cranberry relish (no roast potatoes or piled high veggies filling our plate this year) and he has a carrot raisin salad to go with his. Later, as our "treat" we have a portion of Publix cheesecake! We WILL enjoy it all though, oh yes we will.

I am constantly thankful for everything I have, and love this time of thankfulness. I wish you all a wonderful holiday tomorrow, and hope you make some awesome memories with your families.

Yes, Thanksgiving and Christmas are on their way!

Oh I am sooo loving our Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff!!!  I am about 2/3 of the way done with my own Christmas shopping and over half of that has come out of my many AVON brochures!

I haven't forgotten myself either. Hubby and I are on a 2 year plan to move. We like "the boonies" but civilization is ever encroaching upon us, where there were once green fields and forests there are now 4 subdivisions and 2 single home cleared spaces, so we figure, if they want our 2 acres to put 3-4 homes and a road, they can have it, and we've been looking farther South, about 30-40 miles away, near a lake or pond (so that hubby can just row out into it and sit and fish - if he wants to - when he gets off work).

So I am now buying for "our new home" and packing up stuff I'd want to take from here.

Starting with ... LOL ... (think "The Price Is Right") ...

A brand new crockery set! Well, two actually but so that I can have  pieces that I can mix and match.

I want to be able to alternate the place settings like this illustration. I also treated myself to some zip up plastic storage containers for them.

Dinner plate storage

Mug storage

Salad plate and soup bowl storage

My goal is def less clutter once we have our new place!

I also got myself some nice candles - all 4 of these!

For my granddaughters, I have sterling silver jewelry and make up, for my great grandbabies, some toys and playbooks, for my grandson a Teenage Mutant Ninja quilt and change purse key ring (kind of a gag gift, that one).

I just love this, it's so cute, LOL. My grandson may be in his 20s but he's still a TMNT fan and I know he'll just laugh when he gets this!!!

And he can curl up in this in Winter while watching telly on the couch, or playing his X-box

I love finding unique things for them. I got both my granddaughters who live near me, a vintage style compact with 2 mirrors.

I found them each a make up brush set, as well.

Methinks I have done well :) And all from AVON!!!

These are the current brochures:
