Summer is upon us, waaay too soon. 85 degrees here today. We're expecting storms later because of the heat making things unstable. Well, we need the rain. We are not in a drought YET, but soon will be if we don't get rainy days breaking up the excessive heat. I'm a 70s gal myself, warm enough to be out and doing what you want to be doing, but not hot enough to make you dizzy, headache-y or nauseated!

Yesterday my great-grandson Daniel had his 2nd birthday! Those 2 years have gone by so quickly. From tiny babe to little man and becoming more independent each day. Becoming a good big brother too.

As for me, seems all my recent back pain was a limpoma that healed itself. Probably a fluid bubble from a strained muscle. It had been going away quite nicely, but then I got a twinge again last night and today that dull ache is back. Possibly an injury that will keep occurring, which I am not happy about at all, but will deal with as I have to. Going to have that lovely CT scan bill to pay off, 10 minutes or so and my share - after insurance apparently - is over $950!

My doctor just called and apparently one thing it did show was a bone spur in a ligament between two vertebrae which COULD be a part of the problem, but since I cannot have surgeries that require anaesthesia, there's nothing I can have done to remedy that. Just going to keep on praying for complete healing.

So very thankful for my AVON. There's no way I could deal with all the issues with my body, and manage to get up, get to a job, work and then come home afterwards. Lying in bed may not be everyone's idea of working but it allows me to still earn a living.

Off To A Good Start

I do love my payday Tuesdays, every other week. I have come a long way since my very first AVON Leadership Bonus Check of $6 ... and if I hadn't needed that $6 so badly, I would probably have framed that check and kept it as a souvenir. I was so proud of it. The amount wasn't the important part, it was that I had "made it", I had got myself a little team together and had my foot on that very first rung of the ladder.

Now, I still feel that excitement of "making it" as my team grows, as my team leaders grow in themselves and begin or continue on their journeys up that same ladder, but now I am also very focused on the money too. It helps pay bills, has helped pay for a car and a cabin building in my yard, paid for my mobility scooter, yes my AVON money has paid off a lot in my almost 10 years with them.

Today's is my biggest yet. $430.93. That is REAL money, not pocket change, but an ok 2 weekly paycheck!

More than that, though, it proves that ANYONE can do what I do, because I do this from my bed, and mainly online now. It does take working it - encouraging others, giving ideas, helping resolve issues - but the satisfaction, and other rewards, are well worth it. For me, the biggest kick is that I now earn more being disabled, than I did when I wasn't and was working for an employer.

I'd lost a lot of "who I was" when I first became disabled. The reliable, responsible employee who would stay late, or come in when somebody else couldn't, was no more. I was the one calling in and making excuses as to why I wasn't able to come in that day. I didn't realise how much of my self esteem was tied up in being that reliable person. Until I wasn't, any more! That was a big shock to my system. I'm just thankful I had AVON to help me replace those feelings, with successes and achievements, as I honestly don't know where my mental health would have gone to, had I not.

Yesterday's CT scan went well. It is entirely possible that my lipoma has healed itself as the radiographer couldn't physically see it, when he looked, yet last week it was very visible to both my dr and my hubby. I am thankful not to be in the constant pain that I was! I had a lot of folks praying for me, and God is def good and answered those prayers!

Downside is that MY PORTION of the cost is $953! Yeah, that was a shocker. As I always say, "ok, gotta sell more AVON". I'd expected a couple of hundred but that was a jaw-dropper. Oh well, as my son says "it is what it is, mum!"

Have a wonderful day, my friends.

Saturday, April 23, 2016

Thankfully, so far, my pain level has not been as bad as it has been, and despite not being fully functional, I have been able to do a lot more today, than in recent days, before hurting. I don't want to jinx myself though. I have 2 days until the CT so, for now, that is my milestone, just to get through these 2 days in as least pain as possible.

Constant,in my mind,is that this is going to cost me a lot of money that I don't have. First the CT scan itself, and then whatever procedure to remove this, afterwards. My slogan " I just need to sell more AVON" becomes more of a necessity than just a saying.

Helping me, hopefully, in doing that, is AVON's current gift to online customers on my website: www.youravon.com/rosemarydempsey in honour of Earth Day. Not only do direct delivery customers receive a free Earth Day tote with any order of $60 or more, (use code: EARTHDAY) but AVON will donate $2 to the AVON Healthy Forests, Beautiful World program which provides funding to The Nature Conservancy and The World Wildlife Fund.

I love how AVON supports programs to help empower people, and our environment. I know it has empowered me, for almost a decade.

Why I've been MIA ...

No, I haven't been AWOL because I had nothing to say, I have had issues all week with the pain in my upper back. It just has not gone away. It has been debilitating in that it was constant and no matter whether I tried to lie down, sit up, turn over, stand, it was just awful.I could not breathe in deeply. I slept very rough, I'd awaken and not be sure if it was the pain that and awakened me, or that I'd moved as I was waking, and that was why I was hurting.

Monday, I called to make a doctor appointment, and today I went to see Dr Smith. The news is good but not good. My guess had been pleurisy, which I'd had as a child. I gave it time to work its way through (thinking it was viral) but it didn't, so had made the appointment so my doctor could check and see if it was bacterial. How wrong I was, it's not pleurisy at all, it's a limpoma. I now have a CT scan scheduled for Monday afternoon, and if that proves her diagnosis, then the next thing will be to have it removed.

I HATE that it's going to be a money drain, but I can't live with the constant pain from it. I have my arthritic pain under control, but the pain from this thing isn't going to go away without a physical removal. Ah joy!  And - since I cannot be "put under" a general anaesthesia - it is a good thing (and you may laugh) that this can be accomplished with a topical numbing, and with me being awake. Yes, as you can imagine, I relish that happening! I will have to deal with it though, this pain is not something I can live with permanently.

It has permeated my days to where working my business has been a barely touched activity of the day. Yes, I've been there for my team members, answering questions, helping them get issues resolved and just brainstorming with some, but my daily advertising and posting about my business and the special offers, just fell by the wayside. The back pain was exhausting me. If I could find a comfortable position, I napped, to make up for the times I'd been awake in the night.

Now, although I say it jokingly, I need my business more than ever. These bills will have me saying "gotta sell more AVON!"  Depending on what I find out on Monday, I may even set up a fundraiser party to help me raise the extra money I'll be needing to pay them. We do have insurance but have a $9,000 deductible so that's not much help, and I have no idea how much a CT scan costs or the surgery, if I need that.

Then, after getting home from the doctor, hubby went to the DMV to do his motorbike test ... passed, YAY ... and then his battery died. He tried to run and bump start it,but only managed to wear himself out and called me, breathless. The battery charger was in the car. The car was parked out front. I no longer go out anywhere by myself because the effort and walking involved in getting out of the car to open the gate, back to the car and driving through, and then back out to close the gate and get back in the car, is too much for me physically any more. I was terrified that I would not be able to do it. I panicked, even as I knew I HAD to do it, because my hubby was relying on me.

I was so scared Sadie would act up and run out of the gate as I was trying to get through. She had done that one time when Cleo was alive, and they had both made me run them down in my Land Rover, like something out of Rawhide. Another time she had gone into the ditch, knowing I couldn't follow. I was almost sobbing with worry that she'd play me up again.

She came up to me as I got out of the car but I scooted her back, clapping my hands, and she looked at me lazily and strolled back to the porch. Angel, who I now often refer to as She-Who-No-Longer-Obeys

had refused to go in the house, so I left her in the front yard with Sadie. She's 12 years old and this is the first time, in her life, she has been left outside when nobody was home.

I was a bit tearful on the way, weird emotions, relief that I had managed to do it, glad that I was on my way to help hubby, and actually so THANKFUL that God had allowed me to achieve the physical exertion I had needed to, in order to accomplish it.

As soon as I got to the DMV and hubby put the charger on the bike, it fired up straight away. Just in case though, we headed straight home with me driving behind him.

So, overall, I reflect and think, "YES, it has been a good day!" Many blessings in lots of different ways.

A Beautiful Sunday

Today has been a beautiful day; the weather was glorious, sun was shining, and a gentle breeze blowing.

Hubby and I were out and about, met up with a friend for her to get her AVON order, and discovered a new store - hubby went in to explore and came out with new bedding, a new pillow and 2 new beach-size towels as well as some candy. $68 ... and the bedding is king-size! He's a good bargain hunter!

Later, my granddaughter and her boyfriend came over and cleaned out her old room and bathroom, so now hubby and I can get in and begin working on setting up my new AVON room. Still a lot to be done, but we can now make a start.

I also got a hold of a friend who does cleaning, and who helped me out one time before. She is going to start coming in for me on a weekly basis. Sometimes you just have to realise there's no shame in admitting that you just can't do something any more, or that you need help.

It's been an awesome day all round. Full of blessings. God is good, and I am content.

Goodnight, my friends

Some days are just ...

SWELL!  Today has been perfect, other than muscular twinges in the upper part of my back, on the right side. I have been very productive and am thrilled at all I've achieved!

Hubby had to work, so the alarm blared at us at 5.30am, that raucous noise that shatters the quiet, breaking into my dreaming and gets the great-grand-cat meowing for her morning treats. I packed his lunchbox, and made him a coffee to drink, with his cake doughnut, for breakfast. Fed the 3 cats in the kitchen and let the dogs out.

After he had left for work, 30 minutes after that noise split the silence, I settled down on the computer to work. I updated the game groups that I am an admin of, posted in my AVON team's groups (I have 2, one for everyone and on for those who do Leadership, as well as sell), posted a couple of ads, did my "birthdays" on Facebook, and then settled down to revisit some AVON training courses. I do that periodically, always good to refresh what you think you know so well, yet have forgotten some parts of, without even realising!

My dogs were happy when, a couple of hours later, I fed them, and let them back outside again. By then, the sun was up, and a gorgeous sunny day was beginning.

It was then that my back started having those twinges, and I tried to stretch them out. It didn't work, so I curled up in my bed, with my Tony Hillerman book from the library, on my left side with my right arm bent backwards and stretched out behind me. Yes, very weird, but it was the only way I could get comfortable!

After some reading, I did the dishes. You may laugh, but I actually almost ENJOY doing them now that I use the WATKINS Aloe and Green Tea Dish Soap. I am sooo hooked on that fragrance, it's amazing!

My afternoon was spent on Facebook, and more reading when I needed to stretch my back again.

Hubby came home around 4pm and has just picked up Panera Bread for dinner. I LOVE their Bacon Turkey Bravo on the tomato basil bread. Told him to pick up an extra loaf too!

Yes it's been a pretty awesome day!

My day is almost over, but it's been an excellent one! Started by watching money come in one hand and go out the other, but you know, there is a satisfaction in being able to take a bill and pay it, without having to juggle or worry about it. It definitely feels good.

Then, I had a "game" finish in one of the game groups I am in, and my winner won a $50 spending spree with WATKINS (my other business), and her order was $52. My goal for April with my WATKINS is $250 in sales, although more would be awesome, obviously!

I spent some time mentoring and chatting with some of my AVON team members, and then placed some advertising in some groups on Facebook.

After hubby got home from work, we went out to Mauldin - made an AVON delivery to one of my customers in Conestee, took a couple of library books back, took recycles to the collection point, restocked AVON brochures in Ingles and then picked up rib plates for dinner. That's becoming a Friday thing of late, bbq ribs, fries  and baked beans. We do love our ribs!

We're finishing off our evening watching telly. Just watched Amazing Race, and now watching Grimm.

Since hubby has to work in the morning, the alarm will be waking us at 5.30am, so I'll wish you all a great evening and hope you have a brilliant start to your weekend!

Thursday, April 14, 2016

I can't believe it's Thursday already! Time's flying by

Why does time seem to go so quickly, the older you get? Is it because the more days you have lived, the smaller portion of your life one day becomes? One week? Gone in an instant, it seems, once you have 3167 of them under your belt!

Time - it's something we cannot stop. Once it has passed, it's gone forever. We have to make the most of it, use it wisely, experience joy and accomplish our own greatnesses within it. Large and small. Our achievements are worthy of our satisfaction.

Make each day count. If you have to go out to work, make sure to spend some time on rewarding yourself with some "me" time at the end of the day, even if it's just a 15 minute soak in a bubble bath. Make some family time, again, even if it's only 15-20 minutes reading a little one a story or talking to an older child about how their day went. Don't forget your significant other, either, make sure you give them a hug and a kiss, and a few minutes of one on one attention.

On your weekends - make memories. Laugh. Be silly. Enjoy the time together. Be happy!

What Do You Know About Your Skin?

Good skin care is the foundation of all beauty. It’s more than just creams and lotions.

What is the definition of healthy skin??

The skin is the largest organ of the body, weighing in at 6 pounds and is 18.2 square feet. It has many functions. It breathes through the pores, it’s elastic and flexible, reproduces itself regularly and it repairs itself when it’s injured. It also provides a barrier to moisture loss, UV light and bacterial and viral infections. And through it all, it maintains its temperature through thermal regulation.

How does body and facial skin differ??

What are the three layers of skin??
-epidermis
-dermis
-subcutaneous

The epidermis layer is actually 8-15 layers thick. The outermost layer is called the stratum corneum. The cells of this layer are bound together by a blend of lipids which have a complex composition, including ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids. This layer is mostly cells waiting to be exfoliated. The skin naturally replaces itself every 15-28 days, and this process slows with aging. We need to stimulate the skin to help it replace itself more quickly. The Basal Cells are the lowest layer of the epidermis and is the birthplace of new cells. This is where basal cell skin cancers begin.

The dermis comprises the largest portion of the skin and is often called “the true skin”. It’s the most important layer because it contains blood vessels, hair follicles and sensory nerves. Collagen (supports the skin) and elastin fibers (makes the skin stretchy) are manufactured here. It produces an oil substance called sebum, which forms a coating on the skin’s surface. Younger skin has both and the skin is more flexible and will return more quickly to its shape. Older skin loses both.

The subcutaneous layer is made up mostly of fat cells, which also insulate the body.

What are the major concerns of nearly all men and women??
-signs of aging
-blemishes
-too much oil

We all want to look our best at any age, and as we age we have more skin care concerns.

Think : What does skin aging mean to you??

Here’s an analogy to explain why skin care is so important…imagine luxurious sheets on a lumpy mattress. You won’t get a restful night’s sleep. The sheets are the epidermis and the mattress is the collagen and elastin. It needs to be built up to support the top layers.

Important words to remember:

Oxidation-this is the passage of time and free radicals cause it

Free radicals-these are “runaway” oxygen molecules. It speeds up with skin aging and are in the body and environment all the time. You take vitamins to help counteract this INSIDE the body. You need good skin care to counteract it outside the body. The three most important vitamins used topically are Vitamin A (helps prevent aging), Vitamin E (adds emolliency) and Vitamin C (helps with clarity of the skin).

Here’s an example of how to prove how well Vitamin C (and products containing it) work. Take an apple and cut it in half. Apple some Clearly C or Ultimate Day cream on it half and let them both sit out for awhile. The untreated apple starts turning brown. The treated half remains white. Imagine the dark spots to be the sun damage to the skin and the other half to be what happens, in time, with treatment.

What do you think causes 9 out of every ten wrinkles?

What’s the most important thing you can use on your skin to prevent them??

Important fact!! Every day your skin fights a battle with the environmental elements that cause aging. Good skin care products help your skin win that battle. Things to think about ...

Some people believe that using skin care products is a total waste of time and money. That using plain soap and water is ok. What's the truth? Why or why not??

Are tanning beds healthier than the sun??

Can UVA rays pass through glass and clouds? They penetrate more deeply into the skin than UVB rays, which are most prevalent on sunny days. Should you use sunscreen every day whether you’re indoors or not??

UVA rays are the ones that AGE the skin.
UVB rays are the ones that BURN the skin.
80% of all damage to the skin is done by the SUN!!!

Do you know YOUR skin type??

If you have skin that feels tight after washing it and has too little oil, it’s DRY.

If you have skin that has too much oil and is very shiny, it’s OILY.

If you feel that it’s somewhere in-between, then it’s NORMAL.

Under these three skin types we also have two primary skin conditions. These two conditions can be a part of normal, oily or dry skin.

Sensitive skin-a condition of the skin where it reacts to allergens, the sun, wind etc. It often flushes more readily than other skin.

Premature aging-the amount of aging is evidenced by the skin. Wrinkles, “age” spots (really sun spots) and lack of firmness are seen in this skin condition.

An important fact to remember is that aging skin and sensitive skin are NOT skin types. Your type is normal, oily or dry. You can have either or both skin condition with any skin type.

Understanding your needs is critical to helping you to choose what’s right for you and your skin.

The five universal skin care steps are:

Cleanse - essential to use the cleanser that’s correct for your skin type.

Tone - this returns the skin to the proper PH balance and gets the last bits of dirt off the skin.

(Many cleansers clean AND tone so the second step can sometimes be eliminated)

Treat - an essential step, using the correct treatments and knowing which ones to pik for which "problem"

Moisturize - EVERYONE needs to moisturize. Moisture=water, not oil

Eyes - remember that products designed for the skin should never be used in the “raccoon area” of the eyes. That’s why we have special eye products.

What’s the most commonly asked question when it comes to skin care?

WHAT ORDER DO I USE PRODUCTS???

Follow the list above. Use in that order, remembering to wash your hands before applying the eye cream.

The biggest challenge is determining which treatments to use and in which order! Remember that in general, it’s lightest to heaviest. The order is NOT essential however. If you forget and use a heavier item first, it won’t do any damage!! Some products specifically say to use on bare skin. Make sure you follow those instructions!! That means that they’re going to go down deep and “do their thing”!!

Another important thing to remember…

All of the AVON brands are designed to be compatible. For example, if you are budget conscious but wants the BEST anti-aging, you can use Basic Solutions for your cleanser and toner and then use an ANEW product (or more!) to resolve your aging issues.

In general…

You wants simplicity, try nutraeffects.
You want cutting edge technology and THE best in anti-aging, use ANEW.
For innovation, try MARK.
For solutions for problem skin, use Clearskin.

AVON has been at the forefront of ALL major skin care breakthroughs. When the first Anew product came out, it was because AVON DEVELOPED the alpha-hydroxy acids and were first to market. Every other company, bar none, has used OUR formula in their products. No one has anything like the Elixir…the ones that come close cost considerably more.

******

AVON's premier skin care line is Anew, and that line is further divided into 4 distinct regimens as well as a range of treatments in the Clinical collection. Each has been geared for the different concerns that women experience with their skin.

Although age may well be the deciding factor for many, and predict which products they will choose, lifestyle can age a younger skin as well, and make it require more help.

Foolishness ... when my brain cells fail me!

I am giggling like a fool here. It never bodes well for me, you know, that image of the impeccably professional AVON lady. So ... I had called a lead ... no answer ... left a message on her voicemail. She texted me that she was in school. I apologized and said I had left her the voicemail, and would leave her in peace.
Oh if only!
Hubby texts. I responded. Told him how good Gizmo had been in the bedroom all day. How he'd pigged out on treats. Asked him if he fancied stopping by at Burger King as I'd been craving a bacon cheeseburger all afternoon.
Oops!!! hadn't gone to him at all, somehow had gone to the lady in school! Had to send another apology!
Guess she'll have no illusions as to my competence or lack thereof. LOL :)

The Power of Vision Boards

One of the people who I find inspiring, and this is an awesome post and video from her, Lisa Torres.

The Power of Vision Boards

I remember, many years ago, thinking this was somewhat of a silly concept ... until I learned better and realised what a huge deal visualization really is!

Now I know better!

A Correlation of Cats and Business

My menagerie is becoming as ancient as I ... 4 dogs (2 are 10, the other 2 almost 13), 4 cats (3 around 13 and 1 who's 3), a 13 year old goat named Sadie and 2 hens in their twilight years.

I became allergic to the 3 older cats about 5 years ago, so they found themselves banished from my bedroom. I have to be able to breathe when I sleep. And be without itchy runny eyes and nose. Yes shame on me for being so selfish, but sometimes one has to draw a line.

We decided we were no longer able to rescue any more ... then my granddaughter, Jel, found out she was pregnant with my great-grandson, Daniel, and that she needed to rehome her kitten due to concerns about pregnant women and cat litter. So Snuggles came to us, to "find" her a home and within a couple of hours, it was obvious that she had ... with us!

Assimilation wasn't to be. She was timid and afraid of the others so she growled and acted aggressively. Finally, Gizmo, our oldest, had had enough and I had a ball of fur rolling around, bouncing off walls, hissing, spitting, growling ... yes, you get the picture.

So, since her fur was different, and I didn't seem to have an issue with it, she ended up being a bedroom cat.

And everything works ok with that, and them all being separated. They all get their own treats and lovings, just that Snuggles sleeps in the bedroom and the others are in the kitchen.

Today is different. While we were in the usual morning kitchen routine of hubby taking his packed lunchbox out to the car and bringing the dogs back in from their first morning outside run, Gizmo decided he wanted to be in the bedroom.

To be fair, hubby did try to catch him as he struck out down the hallway, but Gizmo ran under the bed and time was running on, so hubby left for work and Gizmo stayed in hiding for about 20 minutes, then gingerly made his way up onto the bottom of the bed.

Snuggles was lying in her spot on the cable box next to the tv, so a good 6-8 feet away. She eyed him, but went back to sleep.

When she woke up, seemed she wasn't in such a relaxed mode. She started growling, interspersing a couple of hisses along the way. Grumbling away. Gizmo - to be honest - just glanced up with a tired "give it a rest" look and curled back up to go back to sleep.

I gave them both treats, Gizmo munched his down with gusto, she (on the other hand) looked at them and glared at him. Her way of protest maybe, usually she inhales these like a Dyson sucks up dust. Nope, they are still in front of her, where I put them. She is still growling away. No reason to. Plenty of room for the both of them but she does not see it that way.

That's how it can seem in business sometimes too, and it doesn't make any sense to me, but you do get people who just think any space is theirs alone, and they don't want you in it.

I'm in many business groups on Facebook, and I actually admin quite a few of them too. It's annoying when - as soon as somebody posts something - one person immediately goes behind them and places their own ad. The same ad they've posted that morning or evening after everybody else's posts. You get tired of deleting all the excess ads. I end up putting them on moderated status, which then means all their posts have to be approved. They don't like that at all but see nothing wrong in trying to outdo everyone else in the group with their ads, over and over again.

Or you have people who post on other people's posts, especially those of the same company. "I sell this too, shop here!" which is in incredibly bad taste. We are supposed to encourage each other, build on another up, not try to slide in sideways to steal their customers or prospects.

Periodically, AVON gets slammed by a couple of other cosmetic companies, and it def seems that it must come from the company itself as there will be a few days where every rep from XYZ company is posting the same rumour, trying to put us down. I end up coming up with a response pointing to factual info, and posting as a reply. It reminds me of politicians playing dirty pool. My make up company, your make up company, it doesn't matter, people will buy the products they love. MK people will stick with MK, Younique and Tyra folks will stick with those, my AVON peeps will stay with me because they love what they use and they love the service I give.

There is room for us all. Quit growling at everyone else!

I'm more like my Gizmo. I KNOW who I am, I'm not intimidated by aggressive business people, I can SHARE my space BUT sometimes I will respond, and when I do, it's just that - a response - and then I get back to my comfortable spot and carry on doing what I do best, anyway.

Have a great day, my friends.

Monday Monday - so good to me!

I am one of those people who love Mondays. Oh, not the screeching alarm that wakes me up when it's still dark outside, but the freshness of the new week, of a new day, a new start. The successes, or failures, of the previous week are gone, leaving new goals to make, and plans to work, in order to achieve them.

It's exciting! We have no idea of what is going to happen, or how the week will end, but we begin it full of expectation. I know I do!

Today began slowly, actually. I got up to get hubby off to work, made his coffee and packed his lunchbox as is my usual workday routine. His workday. Then I fed the cats, fed the dogs, washed the dishes, came back to bed to begin my work ... and zonked out for a couple of hours.

Suffice to say, that's ok. Now that my body is getting older, and with all my health issues, when it decides it wants a nap ... it just takes one. My eyes get heavier ... and I wake up with the computer still open next to me just an hour or so from the last times I was tapping something out on the keyboard. I now accept it as one of the luxuries of being in my bed most of the day. At least with being my own boss, I just do what I had intended, albeit somewhat later than I'd expected to.

So, after my unintended nap, I began my workday. First things first, updating the 2 business game groups that I'm an admin in. The first is more active and has more members. Updating the weekly lists, and all the games and documents ended up taking me almost an hour and a half. The second is slower, participation is less, so that one was finished in about 15 minutes. Then I took a break. Those lists that need rearranging can make my eyes boggle sometimes!

I love them though, they have helped me network with, and get to know some awesome women, all of us taking our own steps to bring home the bacon, around our commitments and needs. For me it's health reasons, for some, they want to stay home with their children and not have to go to work and let somebody else raise them.

I'd be lying if I didn't say that the sales they add are also a big part of my liking them. They have added a new dimension to my business.

Then I came here to my blog/website to work on some of my other pages. I'm not techy. For some reason I have some pages that are "invisible" from the main page. I've done exactly as I had before, but for some reason there's no separate title/tab for them. My trusty team member and personal tech spec, Caroline, had a quick look and she's going to look some more later, when she gets home from work. Seems we might need some type of design change in order to accommodate all the title/tabs that I want. Trust me to create problems, but I know if it's fixable, she'll be able to tell me how to do it.

I spent some of my day talking to other team members, helping with issues, and contacting people who've expressed interest in joining AVON. That's always easy for me to do because it's been such a Godsend for me, a definite lifesaver for my battered self-esteem when I first got ill and my life changed so much. When I lost the "me" that I knew, and how I saw myself, and had to figure out who the "new me" was, and what her attributes were. It's hard, very hard, to go from an independent person who everybody can rely on, to be at work on time, to physically pull their weight, to always being a caretaker of others ... to someone whose body begins making those decisions, deciding IF and when it chooses to cooperate on any given day, taking away the ability to do things that brought joy, like walking and dancing. Thankfully, AVON filled that spot in a different way, allowing me to achieve a measure of greatness by earning awards and rewards, making me feel worthwhile again, and giving me the respect that comes within a company, for business growth and achievement. Yes, it's easy for me to be thankful for my almost-ten-years with AVON.

I began posting some advertising, but, now, I find the day has whizzed by on me. It's almost 4pm, hubby will be getting off work and coming home. I love having him around. Not bad for 30 years of marriage that we still like each other's company.

Dinner is going to be leftover Chinese food from yesterday, Chicken Chow Mein for him and Sha Cha Beef for me. We do love our Mei Mei House Chinese in Simpsonville, and they are like family to us. We've watched their children grow up over the years, and they greet us with love, every time. It's a great way to treat people, to love and be loved.

Have a great evening, my friends. There's still time to make your Monday count!

My Granddaughter and Great-Granddaughter Are Home

My granddaughter, Jel, is happy. She got to go home today with baby Sami. Daniel seems to be warming up to his sister. Apparently, first impressions, he didn't really take much notice of her. So happy she and her family are all together again ... although I DID nag and tell her to STILL take it easy! That's a nan's prerogative!

A Gorgeous Sunday

Today has been an awesome day, the weather has been absolutely gorgeous and hubby and I had to deliver to a customer out in Greer. We enjoyed the jaunt, and took a magical mystery tour back, just exploring an unknown route in the right direction. We dropped off my AVON brochures at the Money Store on Woodruff Rd, and on my customers at the gas station, and grabbed Panera Bread for a late lunch. It was such a lovely day, we parked under a shade tree, to eat our sandwiches.

Now, I'm catching up on my English telly. PBS has some new seasons of 2 of my favourite shows starting tonight, "Call The Midwife" and "Mr Selfridge". I just love them!

Tomorrow will be a new workday, but tonight is just going to be me being lazy and watching telly.

A Very Good Day!

Today has been busy but very satisfying, for me. I got a lot done.

It started well ... with a nice lie-in. It makes a change to let your body do the waking up when it's ready and not at the blaring of an alarm when all is still dark, outside. Hubby and I were awake around 8.30am, and it was an awakening from a good rest.

He then got ready, and left to go eat breakfast before going on his Craft Brewery Tour that I had set up for him as a relaxing few hours, non-work-related and non-caring -for-me-related, just a well deserved break.

I set to work while he was gone. Labelled AVON brochures, bagged selections for some of my customers, and some of my business places, so that we were ready to drop them off later.

Online, I posted a lot of advertising, some for the new campaign which started today

and some for team building, for myself and my team leaders, and I updated my business pages on Facebook, and sent out an email blast to my mailing list.

When he got home, we went out on our trek to do my AVONing, he re-stocked my brochures in Mauldin, at the Ingles store, we dropped brochures off on a couple of my customers, then at 2 businesses on Woodruff Rd, and picked up Chinese at Oriental House, before coming home again.

The Chinese has been my undoing! After munching curry beef, steamed rice, and egg rolls, all my get-up-and-go had got-up-and-went. Sated, I had no inclination to do much more, so hubby and i have lazily caught up on dvr'd tv programmes this evening. Just relaxing together.

Have an awesome evening, my friends!
