Breast Cancer Crusade New Items

I'm so proud of AVON and the commitment they have shown to Breast Cancer Awareness and support, not only in the years that I have been with them, but they were the first major US company to do so, back in 1992. That was when they created their Breast Cancer Crusade, and joined the forefront in the fight against breast cancer.

In that time, the AVON Foundation for Women has sponsored breast health screenings for over 20 million women, and contributed over $800 million to breast cancer causes. Not only that, but AVON continues to educate women all over the world.

Locally, AVON representatives sponsor walks to not only draw attention to the disease but also to raise money, and in the past we have supported local people suffering from the disease as well as providing transport for women to get to mammograms and screenings, for those who had none of their own.

The AVON brochures not only highlight the Breast Cancer Crusade during October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but also throughout the year, with the Pink Hope collection of items that automatically donate 15% of the price to the AVON Foundation to be used in this fight.

This lovely locket makes a wonderful gift and is only $15. Item # 127653. It has the message " Let your faith be bigger than your fear" and a rhinestone ribbon, and a photo holder.

Purchasing this pendant means a donation of $2.25 towards the Breast Cancer Crusade. It doesn't sound like much, but multiplied by hundreds of people buying them, it soon adds up and becomes a worthy donation to "the cause".

Why am I so passionate about the Breast Cancer Crusade?

I never got to meet my mother-in-law, the woman who gave birth to my husband. She died in 1976 of breast cancer, robbing him (at 12) and his younger sister (then 5) of their mother, as well as his 2 older siblings. A decade later, his sister fought the disease, and she is a survivor, but it is a disease that destroys families.

Even men get breast cancer! A lot of people don't know that!

Nobody is immune.

I think it'd be great to start a craze among pre-teen and young teens to be wearing these, educating them about breast cancer, and maybe inspiring them to raise funds in their communities. 

In this day and age there should be no woman (or man) who is left uneducated about breast cancer.
